Set your heart aflutter with this Russian “wing” lace shawl. It is crescent-shaped and knit from the top down, beginning with a small garter section. The border forms naturally from the lace itself, so there is no separate border to work. Tip the edge of the border with a contrasting color if you prefer or knit it all in one color. You will need about 410 yards of fingering weight yarn to knit this shawl. Once blocked my shawl measures 7 feet end to end and is 17 ½ inches at its center, deepest point. Written instructions, complete row counts and a chart for the lace section are included in the pattern.
