There’s nothing quite like taking time for afternoon tea. And tea does taste so much better when made in a pot. A tea cosy is a much maligned and very functional household item. Who says it can’t be pretty and functional?

My suggestion is add a bag of Assam or Darjeeling to a couple of bags of Earl Grey in your favourite tea pot with plenty of hot water, cover the pot and leave to percolate for a few minutes whilst you find a cup and your favourite biscuit (because I know you have a stash of those too), sit down on a comfy chair and enjoy a few minutes peace.
