This little cardigan is sweet in pink, but will also be ideal in a different colour for a little lad. It is in a combination of moss stitch and diamonds. The collar is made along with the front bands, and you can use a circular needle for this part if you prefer. The name Aine is pronounced awn-yeh and means “splendour and radiance.”

You will need:
Yarn: Red Heart Soft Touch, 5 oz (140g), 266m/290 yds. – the 20” size took 4 oz, so depending on your gauge and desired length, you may find one ball will suffice for each size.
Straight knitting needles: 4.5mm (U.K. 7, U.S. 7) and 5mm (U.K. 6, U.S. 8)
Cable needle
4 or 5 buttons
Yarn needle for sewing up
Place markers – I use small safety pins or tie on contrasting lengths of yarn

Finished garment measurements:
Chest: 20 (22, 24)”
Length from back of neck to hem: 10 (11, 12)” - adjustable
Sleeve from underarm to cuff: 7½ (8½, 10)” - adjustable
