Aino, a female name meaning ‘only’ is a character in the Finnish national epic, the Kalevala. She is a beautiful young maiden with a tragic ending, who drowns herself rather than marrying an elderly man. The pattern Aino has been a creation in the making for almost a year and finally made in to a reality during a long and cold night. Aino knits up quickly, with only 60 grams of DK-weight yarn.
