“Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it doesn’t hurt the untroubled spirit either”
- Elizabeth Zimmerman.

Find inner peace and serenity as you knit the Āio Shawl with its all-over leaf-like lace patterning, evoking the stillness and peace that one can find in nature. The lace design provides both an engaging and repetitive knit so that adventurous beginners and experienced lace knitters will find that this pattern satisfies their creative itch for a challenge or familiarity.

The size is easily adjustable, making it a perfect fit for one cozy skein wonders (measuring 400 yards) or larger yardages. Wrap yourself up in elegant splendor while enjoying the sunlight in a green pasture and making the most of those still moments.

Needle: US size 5 (3.75mm) 32” (60cm) circular needle. A large circular needle is recommended in order to accommodate large number of stitches.
Yarns Used: Circus Tonic Handmade, Revelry Sock ( Fingering / 4 ply ; 409 yards / 100 grams ; Merino / Nylon).
Yardage: 400 - 640 yards. Yardage is dependent on gauge and amount of chart repeats worked.
Gauge: 24” sts and 38 rows = 4” / 10cm after blocking. Gauge is not crucial to the project but different gauges will affect yardage and final size.
Other Notions: Stitch markers, darning needle.
Final Measurements: Easily adjustable. Sample shawl measures 62” (157cm) and 31” (78cm) long, at deepest point after aggressive blocking. Sample was worked over eight chart repeats.

Pattern includes both written and charted instructions, as well as a special link to extra pattern support.
