“Akwaaba” means “Welcome” in Ghana, which is where I designed and knit this vest during a medical mission trip in May 2012. It was originallydesigned just for me, but I have had requests to publish the pattern, so here it is.

Because it was only knit for me, I did not try to add any other sizes to the pattern instructions. If anyone would like to do the math and add some, I would be more than happy to amend the pattern.

The pattern is free, however, if anyone would like to make a voluntary tax-deductible donation to our medical mission work, visit my www.empowered.org/mhan. You can also see pictures of the trip to Ghana as well as other mission trips I have gone on at www.prohealthmd.com/mhan.

And of course if there are any suggestions or corrections, please let me know. This was, after all, originally just for me, but I’m more than happy to share!
