This is a textured sock pattern utilizing only knit and purl stitches. The sock is knit cuff down with a patterned heel flap and standard wedge toe.

The stitch pattern with its intersecting lines reminded me of driving down the old county roads in Nebraska, Alda Road to be specific, by corn and wheat fields, crossing railroad tracks, and eventually coming to that bridge where we spent many a hot summer day hanging out at the Platte River, drinking beer, and getting sunburned.
