ADVANCED BEGINNER LEVEL

SKILLS NEEDED:

Crochet and Knitting
Knitting flat on circular needles/ or knitting in the round

MATERIALS:

Circular knitting needle with the longest length (preferable 47” or 60”) US Size 8-9 (5.00 -6.00mm)
Crochet hook Size H-I (5.00-6.00mm)
Tapestry needle and scissors

K-knit

P-purl

HDC-half double crochet

SC-single crochet

YARNS:

2 skeins Carons Simply Soft Yarn- “Off White” color
Contents: 100% Acrylic

2 skeins Aunt Lydia’s Metallic Crochet Thread (size 10) – “Natural & Gold” color

NOTES:

You will knit using both yarns at the same time.

This cowl is knit longways so you need to use a long circular needle. If you do not have a very long circular, you can knit the cowl in two pieces in half and then connect them.

Also to get a more draped/stretched fabric, use the larger size needles. If you knit tight/tension, your cowl will be more firm instead.
You will be knitting flat on a circular needle because the length of a circular needle is easier to use than trying to obtain on 2 straight needles. When you reach the end of the row, turn work and work pattern on the other side, unless your circular cord is long enough to knit the entire piece in the round.
