These Norwegian-style mittens feature traditional elements like a striped lace cuff and a thumb gusset on the palm side of the mitten, while the back of the hand features delicate wintry floral motifs.

Yarn
2 colors of Kate Davies Designs Buachaille (100% Scottish wool, 120 yds / 110 m per 50g skein) in the following quantities:
main color yarn: 95 (105) yds / 87 (96) m (1 skein)
smaller size shown in Haar, larger size shown in Squall
contrasting color yarn: 65 (80) yds / 60 (73) m (1 skein)
smaller size shown in Moonlicht Nicht, larger size shown in Haar
If substituting yarn, DK weight is recommended.
Note: the original mittens were knit in KDD & Co Buachaille, which is discontinued. KDD & Co introduced Schiehallion as a replacement and it would be a suitable substitute.
