It’s dusk on the desert and beneath a starlit sky, a line of camels with rolling gait begin their slow and stoic trek across the dunes…are they Bactrian or Dromedary? B for Bactrian = 2 humps D for Dromedary = 1 hump.

You know who had one hump, don’t you?

Alice!

Alice the Camel, Colourwork Mittens in Two Sizes is a knitted ode to those Ships of the Desert and a nod to a favourite campfire song from childhood.

Using 7 different colours of Harrisville Shetland (or similar colours in a DK weight & a larger needle size), you can knit either a pair of mittens for an average adult female hand of 8-8.5” or a larger size, up to 9”.

A great way to use up scraps of yarn, 6 of the 7 colourways use less than 15 yards of yarn!
