In the Upcountry region of Maui, nested on the slopes of Haleakala (House of the Sun), is the mystical Ali`i Kula Lavender farm.

Just in the middle of the lavender fields there is small gazebo where you can hide from the heat. Sit on the bench and enjoy the magnificent view of the green mountains with turquoise ocean below, or you look above and see blue, blue sky. Then, walk down and you will see the different kind of exotic flowers the owners of the farm grow on their ground. The most fascinating and mysterious in my opinion is protea flowers. The farm has many of them blooming already or just about to start. Do not forget to check out small souvenir shop where you can buy the essential oils, or other products made out of the lavender. On the back of the shop there is a lanai where you can have some lavender tea with the scone.
Every time I am on Maui on holiday I want to visit this farm and this shawl is reminder of my visits.
