We (Lucky Violet Color Co) have a fantastic array of dye to order colors for you to choose from, on more than a dozen different yarn bases in a variety of weights and fiber blends.

Our fine artists have created curated palettes that make shopping for multi-color projects extremely easy: Choose a curated palette on your favorite yarn base and with one click all of your colors are added to the cart. Visit Lucky Violet Color Co “Curated Palettes” to see them all.

This shawl is crescent shaped, formed by 5 wedges. Four of the wedges are equal in size, and a center wedge is twice as large as the others. So you will have two same-sized wedges on one side, the center larger wedge, and then two more of the smaller, same-sized wedges on the other wide.

Using this shaping allows you to create a shawl of depth that will curve nicely around the shoulders and stay on more easily…kind of like a hand knit hug.

I designed and knit the sample for this pattern as a Mother’s Day gift for my mother. I celebrate my mother this Mother’s Day for so many reasons … not the least of which is that she has just always been such a wonderful mother.

You will need about 170 grams total fingering weight yarn using anywhere from 1 to 5 colors, and size U.S. 8 circular knitting needles.

There are some fun textures, and the texture stitches used are especially good for blending multiple colors together in the most lovely way.
