A light shower of rain gets heavier until the drops finally flow to the waves of the ocean. This half-hexagon lace shawlette uses a modified version of the Old Shale pattern combined with a pattern of eyelets to make a water-inspired summer shawlette.

The pattern includes both charted and fully written instructions. It is possible to work this pattern without using charts.

You will need approximately 600 yards of lace weight yarn, 3.25mm (US 3) needles, and a darning needle for weaving in ends.

You need to be able to: work from either charts or written instructions, work increases and decreases (yarn over, lifted increase, k2tog, k3tog, SSK)
