This vest, which matches the All Tied Up Skirt,  features ties as closures instead of buttons or clasps, with horizontal buttonholes worked on each side of the front bands. The back and fronts are worked first. A narrow neckband in seed stitch is worked next, and the front bands and bottom bands with mitered corners are worked in seed stitch after the sides are seamed. I chose seed stitch since the Stitch Anatomy lesson is on Aran filler stitches. The back is longer than the fronts but can be made so that they are the same length. The recommended yarn, Shibui Rain, is a chained cotton which makes the resulting fabric lighter.
