Sweet and simple, this alpaca baby cap has a rolled brim and an easy-to-do Fair Isle band. Change the colors to suit the recipient, add ties or a two-color topknot--the pattern includes everything to help you make a hat that is uniquely your own!

Materials needed:

  • 3 skeins, each in a different color, of Frog Tree alpaca or similar alpaca sportweight yarn
  • 1-12” or 16” circular needle in size US 3 (3.25mm)
  • 1-set of size US 3 (3.25mm) double pointed needles
  • tapestry needle

The original alpaca baby hats (see pwa’s gemellini)were made for newborn twin boys. Three skeins of the Frog Tree Alpaca--one in blue, one in apple green, one in brown--yielded two hats and enough left over for another small project!

If you have any questions, or need any help, please don’t hesitate contacting me, pwa, at any time.

Happy knitting!
