Alvarez Hat

Alvarez Hat
This pattern recalls many of the botanical paintings of Mabel Alvarez, particularly In the Garden, with its bright reds, deep purples, and light browns. If knit in two colors, the motif echoes the botanical details of the seedpods; knit with six and it becomes a perennial garden. The colorwork stitch pattern follows all the rules of traditional Fair Isle: short
floats, no more than two colors in a row, and symmetrical pattern repeats.
