In the 14th Century the word Tabard was used to describe a piece of sleeveless clothing like a cape worn over a knight’s armour.

In the 21st Century I imagined a beautiful Tabard worn over anything you like. Amalia was my inspiration for this piece.

Starting at the neck the piece is worked in the round, then shoulder stitches are added and worked flat for the front and back. Eyelets are created at the sides to add an i-cord to close the edges.

Knit in the lovely worsted cotton by Blue Sky Fibres it is a piece to be worn for a bit more warmth in a summer breeze.
