This pattern is a combination between Julia Ear Flap Hat and Kelly Hat.

As the other two, Amanda Hat is very easy and quick to make. It’s one of my favorite instant gratification patterns.

The hat is worked from the top down, then the brim is worked. Flower is made afterwards and sewn to the hat.

Finished Measurements:
14¾ (16, 18, 20, 22)” circumference to fit average baby (6-12 months), toddler (12-24 months), child (3-10 years), teen/small adult, adult with 1-2″ of negative ease.

Length without brim: 5¾ (7, 7¾, 8¼, 8¾)”.

Yarn: light worsted weight yarn, the hat on the picture was made using Caron Simply Soft (100% acrylic; 7 oz/198 g/366 yards/334m): 1 skein in chocolate and 1 skein in lt. country blue (separated into two balls).

Yarn Substitutions: Bernat Satin, Patons Merino Wool.

Hook: US I/5.5 mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Notions: yarn needle, stitch marker (optional).

Gauge: 12 sts and 6.5 rows to 4″ in dc, holding two strands of yarn together.
