Amanda’s Mitts came about from a special request a friend of mine had for me.

Amanda’s Mitts are a close fitting pair of fingerless mitts. Keep a close eye on the diameter of these mitts as you may want to add stitches if they seem too small. (PM me if this seems hard to work out, I have some ideas) I have them in three lengths, short, medium and tall so you can tailor the overall length of the mitts to suit your needs.

As with all of my fingerless mitt patterns, these do not use a thumb gusset. The thumb is worked by working back and forth for several rows before joining back into the round. As a musician I prefer my thumb to be totally free to reach an octave on the piano or give me a little friction so my flute doesn’t slide all over. My opposable thumb likes it’s freedom.
