I designed this pattern for the 2013 South Sound Yarn Crawl. I liked it so much I made 2 hats in 2 different yarns--both turned out gorgeous. Liberty Wool offers a huge selection of long variegated colors, so it was easy to find a color that had yellow for the center of the flower. I love Gradient, so I also made a hat in that yarn as well.

The hat starts in the center top and works out and down to the ribbed brim. You get the feeling of a sunflower at the top, seeds and then leaves around the bottom. I bound off in a tubular bind off and included a link to a video showing how to do the bind off.

You could certainly make the hat in one color, if so desired, and it would be just as lovely!

Enjoy!
