Inspired by the fantastical amanita mushroom, this cowl is a choose your own adventure kind of project. You can make a reversible cowl where you use a provisional cast on to start and then graft the stitches to the live edge to create a seamless reverse backing, or knit a ribbed hem at top and bottom. For the amanita section, choose between the simple amanita mushroom chart or the fair
isle option.

Yarn: Drops Alpaca
-For hemmed edge (& either chart), you’ll need, 1 ball of each: CC1 (white, col. 101); CC2 (red, col. 3620); and MC (teal, col. 2919).
- For the reversible cowl (& either chart), you’ll need 1 ball of each CC1 (white, col. 101), and CC2 (red, col. 3620); 2 balls of MC (teal, col. 2919).

Needles
2.5 mm circular needle, 24” long, or size required to obtain gauge (& for fair isle version, another circular needle of equal or smaller gauge for completing the Kitchener stitch grafting).

Gauge
Approximately 24 sts x 32 rows in stockinette.

Sizing
One size (both versions measure approximately 24” in circumference, and the cowl stands between 6-7” high.)

Other Materials Required
A stitch marker for both versions, and for the reversible back version, you’ll need waste yarn, a 3 mm crochet hook for the provisional cast on, and a sewing needle for working Kitchener stitch.
