Amar is a fun take on the classic watchman hat, knitted from the bottom up in 2X2 ribbing with two colors.

The word Amar means “forever” or “immortal.”

When 2X2 ribbing is knitted in 2-color stripes, it creates a fascinatingly complex appearance and somewhat imitates a gingham check. Choose a rich tonal yarn for color B to enhance that effect and add to the delight. The crown is finished in color B and can be worn with the brim turned up or down.

Amar is one of four patterns from CUTILITARIAN KNITS, designed for Malabrigo MFPP Collection. Read more about it here on Malabrigo’s blog.
