Amara is a light and floaty sweater with a drop shoulder construction that features airy fluffy cable motifs framed with brioche stitch, a split back hem, and my forever favorite – balloon sleeves!

Suggested Yarn
Sample knit with three strands of Purl Soho Tussock (60% mohair, 40% silk. lace weight. 328 yards/25g) in the colorway Golden Lichen (sample #1) and Cypress Green (sample #2)

The three strands of mohair creates an airy fluffy fabric, but if you would prefer a more solid fabric, you can try a different yarn combination. Some of my testers achieved gauge with fingering and mohair held together or dk weight and worsted weight held single. When picking yarn for your project, be sure to swatch to make sure you have a fabric that you like!

Suggested Needles
Main needle - 5mm (US size 8), 24-60 inch circulars and DPNs
Cuff – 4.5mm (US size 7), DPNs or magic loop
or the required needle size to obtain gauge

Materials
lace weight yarn, circular needles, DPNs (or magic loop, for smaller circumference), cable needle (optional), stitch markers, scrap yarn, darning needle

Gauge
Main Cable Pattern: 21 stitches & 28 rows = 4” worked in the round and flat, blocked
Brioche: 13 stitches & 28 rows (28 rows total, 14 visible knit sts) = 4” worked in the round and flat, blocked
