WARNING: This pattern has a count stitch mistake. I apoligize to all the tolerent ladies who tried to make this hood and could not get the pattern to knit up right. I will be correcting this as soon as possible.
Until then, Please, just knit all stitches between the spine stitches and yo on each side of the spines. (yes, you will be knitting the previous row’s yo’s.)
If you try this and it doesn’t work, please let me know so I can find a cliff to jump off.

This pattern can be made in any size, with any yarn, using any needles that works. It is a simple pattern.

I named it “Amaryllis Hood w/Scarf” as it has the deep throaty, cupped shape of the Amaryllis flower. It even rolls back on it’s self like an Amaryllis does. The scarf can be left off for just a hood, or made wider as you want.

Okay, here’s the deal. I love some of the hoods that I have seen on Ravelry, but none of them were just right. They tended to start on the outside and work in. That may be alright, but I wanted a pattern that started at the point and worked outward. I like to knit until I use up my yarn, and I also don’t want to get the hood done and find out that it is to small.
So I made my own pattern. There may be a pattern out there just like this, but I never did find it, so it doesn’t count.
If you make it, please, put up pictures. I would love to see it.
