This shawl is worked flat from the bottom up in rows, but long circular needles are recommended due to the large number of stitches. If you are using interchangeable needles you may find it helpful to switch to shorter cable lengths as the number of stitches reduces. We recommend placing stitch markers between pattern repeats and inserting lifelines at least once per section repeat. Due to the complexity of this pattern, we did not have the space to print both the charts and the written instructions in full. The first few sections include both charted and written instructions. For the final few sections, the
charts are here, and the written instructions can be downloaded from www.knitnowmag.co.uk/shorturl/ambleside
