Whether on a hike or relaxing by the campfire, every American girl needs something warm to snuggle into when she’s exploring the wilderness. Make your American girl doll happy with just the right sweater by knitting this versatile piece. With long sleeves and a functional front kangaroo pocket, this sweater is sure to be a favorite. While this pattern is best suited for intermediate knitters, don’t let the construction or the steek worry you! All the techniques used in making this sweater can easily be learned using the many online tutorials currently available. That’s how I learn to knit, and so can you!

The Sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down using raglan shaping. The kangaroo pocket is picked up and knit on the front, and a steek up the back makes the sweater easy to put on the doll. Button bands are picked up and knit from finished steek edges.
