Gradient bliss! This beautiful shawl has a nice rhythmic lace pattern that is kept interesting with the change of colors. The arrangement of stitches creates a wavy effect in the fabric and a diagonal stair step border between the color changes. The combination of the stitch pattern and pretty gradient generate a simply elegant shawl. I used Julie Asselin’s beautiful gradient for the shawl, a pure pleasure to work with. Amia means beloved and this has definitely become my beloved shawl!

This wrap is made end to end with stitches added along one edge to give a wavy triangular shape. Written instructions are provided for the lace chart. Marker placement is not specifically designated; feel free to use them as desired.
You may choose to work the entire project in one color or use color combinations different from the 6-color version shown. To help you calculate required yardages for different options, the sample used 80-100 yds/75-95 m for each of the first five colors and approximately 370 yds/340 m of the main color. Though gauge is not usually crucial for this type of project, but if you’re using 5 mini-skeins and you’re working at a looser tension, you risk running short, especially with the 5th color.
