Fingering (14 wpi) ?

Amphitrite, sea goddess of ancient Greece, was wife of of the god Poseidon and, according to Pindar, Goddess of the Great Golden Spindle.

In this toe-up sock, I have combined these motifs in the columns of seaweed cables and Grecian-inspired centre cable that soars over the foot and up the leg.

This sock also features detailed instructions for a somewhat unusual heel construction, with a heel flap and inverse decreases that follow the curve of the heel rather than merely sit around it like most toe-up heels.

This pattern is currently being test-knit by a fantastic group of knitting lovelies. It will be available for purchase by the end of 2011 via Made by Loumms as part of a 4-pattern collection of woman’s socks.
