Amy Ellen's Monochromatic Cowl
This cowl is knit in the round, using bulky yarn so it goes fairly fast.
Gauge isn’t critical, as it just needs to fit over your head, pattern’s written for one size, and as made, is more “snug” than some may like. However, I knit tight, so yours may be naturally looser/wider than mine. But if you feel you still need to increase the width, the pattern repeat is 5 stitches, so add multiples of 5 when you cast on- and plan your yarn usage accordingly, as it will use up more yarn. ;)
Pattern is written for 3 colors, and uses 3 balls of Shepherd’s Shades. I’ve made it with 2, using darker for the ribbing and lighter for the pattern. Have yet to make it with just one color (I’m a sucker for the colors available in this yarn!), but based on the amounts left when doing 2 or 3 toned, when using just one color, you will probably need two balls of Shepherd’s Shades. (I’ll update as soon as I find out so that you may substitute similar yarns.)
