Amy Winehouse rocked a simple polo shirt like no other. After seeing the moving documentary film about her life, I had to make a hand knitted version of this wardrobe staple.
The beauty of this shirt lies in its versatility. Style it very elegantly or punk rock, with slacks or jeans or any skirt…. It will always be cool and sexy. I selected a very simple stitch pattern that mimics the waffled texture of classic polo shirts and makes it slightly retro.
The shirt is knitted in pieces, and the sleeves are worked by
picking up stitches around the arm: via the method of genius Barbara Walker.
This pattern was tech edited by Kristen TenDyke.
