There is something wonderful about growing up in Ireland, waking Christmas morn to the smell of turf burning, the smell of your Mam’s Christmas Bread wafting in the air. The lovely ritual of morning Mass and then going home to see what
treasures were in your stocking. I still use the same stocking my Mam knit for me when I was a child. I would wake up to find beautiful mittens, a peppermint stick, little treasures
that Mam had found for us, and a gingerbread biscuit. The stocking was my favourite, even more so then seeing what was left by Father Christmas.
So I share with you an Irish Christmas.
