Anatolian Tales is inspired by the traditional Anatolian kilim carpets decorative motifs. In the Anatolian tradition, each motif has a meaning, often linked to motherhood, fertility or amulets.
I revisited and interpreted those motifs in a free and totally personal way, taking inspiration from the several kilim carpets that embellish my parents’ house, memories of the beautiful time my family spent in Turkey long time ago.
This top down sweater is worked seamlessly in the round. After the cast on, short rows shape the neckline and the stranded yoke is worked. After the body and sleeves are divided, the body is worked straight and finished with a color work border. Sleeves are fitted and shaped with decreases.
The color work requires 2 colors per row, with the only exception of few rows where three colors are worked at the same time.
