The intricate colorwork hats worn by boys and men in Peru are quite famous, but lace caps are less well known. The originals were knit with natural white yarn at a very fine gauge on tiny needles; sometimes the knitters even used bicycle spokes! Made in a soft pastel yarn, this adaptation is perfect for modern comfort and faster knitting. The lace patterns are easy enough for new lace knitters, making this a perfect skill-building project.
