This cowl is inspired by Swedish Bohus knitting which uses purl stitches to create interesting textures and color combinations. Two colors of fingering weight yarn are used, but only one color at a time. The result is a squishy cowl with a blended stripe, perfect to wear as a single loop or doubled for extra warmth. The cowl is knit in the round as a tube and grafted closed.

Pattern includes written directions for two sizes as well as my favorite way to knit in the round and change colors for evenly tensioned and jogless stripes.

This pattern is highly adaptable in width as well as length. It would be a great scrap-user if you paired a bunch of leftover sock yarn with a single skein of solid or semi solid sock yarn. This cowl could also be knit in one color, using two matching skeins.

Yarn required:
For small: two skeins of sock yarn, approximately 350 yards each in two colors.
For large: two skeins of sock yarn, approximately 425 yards each in two colors.

Sizes:
Small: 7” wide x 41” circumference
Large: 7.5” wide x 46” circumference
