This shawl was originally inspired by a picture of a tropical octopus, spread out in all it’s glory on the sea bed.
Once it was finished though the shawl reminded me of the pictures of spiral galaxies that my daughter, the astrophysicist keeps showing me , hence the name.
Worked in the round with not one, but two borders.
The first is knitted on before picking up a series of loops and knitting a second, beaded border in the round.
