The scarf consists of two alternating sections: bobbles and cables. It uses 3×3 rib as a basis. Slip stitches at the beginning and the end of every RS row provide a nice edge. I also added a single crochet border around the whole thing. The BO border has three loop buttonholes and bobbles at the beginning of the scarf act like buttons. So the original scarf is fastened, but there are two other methods of finishing in the pattern. The hat was designed to correspond with the scarf, so it also has bobbles and ribs.

It the pattern you’ll find written step-by-step instructions of how to do the whole set including 3- and 5-stitch bobbles. However, for information on how to make pom-poms you have to look for a video or a photo tutorial – it’s hard to describe it without any kind of visual aid and I don’t have any pictures from the process.
