In The Birds, Annie Hayworth is the tragic teacher, who has already lost the guy and who will also lose her life in the course of this movie. I can picture the sad, but down-to-earth Annie wearing this flattering boatneck sweater with her grey slacks or dressed up with a skirt.

The sweater itself is all mid-century classic with its three-quarter length sleeves and defined waistline. The simple lines of the Annie Sweater are perfect for this handpainted silk/merino blend. While the silk lends the required drape, the grays glow like a gloomy day in Bodega Bay.
