This is a simple, quick pattern for a pair of mittens to fit your young toddler. These mittens are knit in the round with thumbs sticking out the side so each mitten fits on either hand. Toddlers will love being able to put these on all by themselves! I recommend making three mittens to give to toddlers - they like to lose things.

Yarn: Malabrigo Yarns Merino Worsted or any worsted weight 100% wool, 30-35 grams (for two mittens), 50-55 grams (for three mittens)

Needles: size 4 US DPNs (3.5 mm), or size to give you correct gauge and a nice, firm fabric

Gauge: 6 stitches/inch

More important than achieving the proper number of stitches/inch is achieving a nice, firm fabric with the yarn you are using. I recommend going down approximately two to three needle sizes from the size you would normally knit with worsted weight yarn.

Notions: scrap yarn, yarn needle for weaving in ends, stitch marker

All my patterns have been test knit and professionally tech edited for your enjoyment and ease of use.
