Antheia (Ancient Greek: Ἀνθεία) was one of the Graces of Greek mythology (goddesses of charm, beauty, nature, human creativity, and fertility).
Her name is derived from the Ancient Greek word ἄνθος which means “flower” or “blossom”. Her symbols are gold colored items. Her center of worship was on the island of Crete (for those that don’t know this is where I live the past few years). Antheia was the goddess of vegetation, gardens, blossoms, especially worshiped in spring and near lowlands and marshlands, favorable to the growth of vegetation. She was also the goddess of human love.
This shawl is inspired by the myth of Antheia. It is a full lace shawl knit with yarn in pink, apricot and golden brown with gold beads. The lace creates a delicate flower pattern.

A project suitable for lace and beading beginners alike. This shawl can be knitted with lace, fingering, sport, DK or worsted weight yarn. Gauge is not important. I recommend using needles 2 sizes larger than the needles recommended for your yarn. The size of your shawl and the yardage needed will vary depending on the yarn and needles used. You can add more repeats if you want a larger shawl, the pattern is very versatile. The list below gives a general indication of approximate yarn usage for different weights of yarn as reported from our test knitters.
