Knitting Pattern for a Boxy Sweater with a Classic Fit in Cable Pattern all over Body and Sleeves in Sizes XS/S | M/L (XL/2XL | 3XL/4XL) 5XL.

Structure:
The sweater is worked top down in cable pattern in one piece. First of all, the back part is worked back and forth in rows and with increases to shape the shoulders. As soon as the total number of stitches is reached, the back part is put to rest and stitches for the front panels are picked up along the back part. The front panels are first worked separately to shape the round neck with increases. When the two front parts are joined at the round neck, the front part is finished off in one piece. Finally, when the front part has reached its final length, front and back part are joined to the round by casting on new stitches under each armpit. The body of the sweater is finished in cable pattern in the round with a hem in 1x1 (twisted) ribbing. Afterwards, stitches for the sleeves are picked up along the armholes and the sleeves are worked in cable pattern in the round as well – and finished off with cuffs in 1x1 (twisted) ribbing. Last but not least, stitches along the neckline are picked up and a collar in 1x1 (twisted) ribbing is worked along the round neck.
The fit of the sweater is oversized due to the positive ease and this makes it especially comfortable to wear and to snuggle up on colder winter days. Due to the blow yarn, it is still a light sweater – increasing the comfort.
Please note: Due to the grading of the sweater and to ensure a good fit for a variety of sizes, the sweater will look differently from size to size around the collar: The cable in the middle of the collar is worked only for sizes M/L and 3XL/4XL. The other sizes will work a reverse stockinette stitch section there. If you want to have this cable in the middle of your sweater flowing out of the collar, make sure to pick one of the mentioned sizes above.
