Gauge: 20 st in 4in/10cm in stockinette stitch

Recommended yarn: any to obtain the gauge. Worsted or DK for regular look, or thinner yarn on larger needles for daintier look.
The samples were made using Rowan Denim and Berocco Pima 100 (4mm / US6 size needles), Cascade Superwash Merino 200 and Lion Brand Jeans (4.5mm / US7 needles), and Red Heart Baby Hugs light (4.5mm / US8 needles).

Recommended needle size: to obtain the gauge. Your needle size might vary depending on how tight or loose your knitting is and also the yarn you choose will impact your gauge. Please be sure to make a gauge swatch to make sure you obtain the gauge. For most, 4 – 5mm needles work the best.

You will need: yarn (up to 50g for the smallest sizes, up to 80g for the larger sizes), knitting needles, darning needle to weave in the yarn ends and to sew the back of the bonnet. Crochet hook in the same mm size as the knitting needles to make the ties (if you are making crochet ties – 4mm / G works for most).

The bonnet is knit flat.
