Cropped and cosy and a cuddle in knitted form. This is the cardigan version of my most-worn Anyday Sweater.

Yarn: Chunky/bulky weight yarn, 559 (607; 683; 729; 800) 891; 940; 1011; 1090 m, 613 (665; 747; 799; 877) 976; 1029; 1108; 1193 yards.

Shown in Scheepjes Softfun in shade Iris, a DK weight cotton/acrylic blend, held double. If using DK yarn doubled, you will need approximately 1392 (1512; 1701; 1816; 1993) 2219; 2341; 2518; 2715 metres / 1522 (1654; 1860; 1986; 2180) 2427; 2560; 2754; 2969 yards.

Needles and notions: 5mm and 7mm circular needles, recommended lengths 60cm for body, and either long DPNs or 100cm circular needle (for magic loop) for sleeves in both sizes. You will also need stitch markers of 2 different colours/styles, a tapestry needle, scrap yarn for holding stitches, and spare circular needles for 3 needle bind off.

Gauge: 12.5 sts and 18 rows per 4” in stocking stitch on 7mm needles, blocked.

Sizing: 1 (2; 3; 4; 5) 6; 7; 8; 9 detailed below. Sample shown is a size 2 worn with around 8” / 20 cm positive ease on a 34” / 86cm bust.

To fit bust: 28-30 (32-34; 36-38; 40-42; 44-46) (48-50; 52-54; 56-58; 60-62) inches / 71-76 (81-86; 91-97; 102-107; 112-117) (122-127; 132-137; 142-147; 152-157) cm.

Finished bust: 38.5 (42; 47; 50.5; 55.5) (59; 62.5; 66.5; 71) inches / 98 (107; 119; 128; 141) (150; 159; 169; 180) cm

Finished waist: 28.5 (30.5; 34; 38.5; 43) (47; 50.5; 55; 58.5) inches / 72 (77; 86; 98; 109) (119; 128; 140; 149) cm

NOTES
This garment is worked entirely seamlessly, with the body worked from the bottom up, split at the armholes for the fronts and back, joined at the shoulder seams with a 3 needle bind off, and the sleeves and neckband worked by picking up around the armholes and neckline respectively. The whole item is worked inside out.

This pattern features exposed ‘seams’, a design feature which is worked in several different ways throughout the garment.
The length shown in the schematic is for a slightly cropped cardigan, designed to meet the waistband of high-waisted trousers or a skirt. The torso could be lengthened slightly by adding straight rounds after the shaping, however the number of stitches cast on is designed to fit reasonably snugly around the waist, so would likely be stretched if worn lower on the torso.

The Anyday Cardigan is #SizeInclusive to a bust of 62”, plus the intended positive ease.
