ADVENT SALE DAY 21 - use code ADVENT22 to receive 20% off the Anyday Sweater and a free copy of the knitted Housey pattern :) Expires 5pm GMT on Thursday 22nd December. Happy knitting!

It’s simple, it’s cosy, and it’s as suited to a day of lounging around the house as it is to dressing up with a cute skirt. Or with fancy trousers. Or layering over shirts and dresses. For anyone, anyday, in short!

Sizing: 1(2,3,4,5) 6,7,8,9 – shown in bold for ease of reading.
To fit bust 28-30 (32-34, 36-38, 40-42, 44-46) 48-50, 52-54, 56-58, 60-62“.
Finished bust circumference: 38.5 (42, 47, 50.5, 55.5) 59, 62.5, 66.5, 71
Finished waist circumference: 28.5 (30.5, 34, 38.5, 43) 47, 50.5, 55, 58.5

Yarn: Chunky/bulky weight yarn, approximately 559 (607, 683, 729, 800) 891, 940, 1011, 1090 m, 613 (665, 747, 799, 877) 976, 1029, 1108, 1193 yards. Shown in Rowan Brushed Fleece in shade 263 ‘Cairn’. If using this yarn, you will need 6 (6, 7, 7, 8) 9, 9, 10, 11 balls.

Needles and notions: 5mm and 7mm circular needles, recommended lengths 60cm for body, and either long DPNs or 100cm circular needle (for magic loop) for sleeves in both sizes. You will also need stitch markers of 2 different colours/styles, a tapestry needle, scrap yarn for holding stitches, and spare circular needles for 3 needle bind off.

Skills needed: basic stockinette stitch in the round, 1x1 rib, basic increases and decreases, three-needle bind off, and picking up stitches.

NOTES
This garment is worked entirely seamlessly, with the body worked from the bottom up in the round, split at the armholes for the front and back, joined at the shoulder seams with a 3 needle bind off, and the sleeves and neckband worked by picking up around the armholes and neckline respectively.

Reverse stocking stitch forms a lovely texture, but I (and I assume most knitters) would rather knit endlessly than purl endlessly. For this reason the whole item is worked inside out.

This pattern features exposed ‘seams’, a design feature which is worked in several different ways throughout the garment.

Photos show Size 2 worn with 9 inches of positive ease around the bust, and 4 inches of positive ease around the waist. The sleeves are designed to be slightly longer than ¾ length but not full length.

The length shown in the schematic is for a slightly cropped sweater, designed to meet the waistband of high-waisted trousers or a skirt. For reference I am 5’10 with a quite a long torso, so to achieve the same fit on a shorter frame may require slight modifications. Instructions how to lengthen and shorten the bodice are included in the pattern.

I LOVE seeing people knit my patterns - if you could tag @lilykatemakes and #AnydaySweater on Instagram that would be great!

The Anyday Sweater is #sizeinclusive to a bust of 62” (plus the intended positive ease).
