The Apple Daze Cowl is a fun colorwork cowl that features stripes and stranded colorwork apples with fun, twisted stitch stems. It is designed for fingering weight yarn, but could easily be adapted for other yarn weights and gauges by simply increasing (for lighter yarn weights) or reducing (for heavier yarns) the number of apple pattern repeats- the number of cast on stitches must simply be a multiple of 7 apple pattern stitches. If the total number of stitches cast on is an even number, the lace edgings will be * k2tog, yo * without the first knit stitch as written in the pattern.

Fit info
The finished, blocked cowl will stretch a bit to fit over your head- be careful to knit the stranded colorwork sections loosely, and measure your head first just to be sure it will fit with your choice of yarn and gauge.

Yarn substitutions
This design was inspired by and made with the Apple Rose colorway of Blue Ridge Yarns’ Footlights, but any 4 other colors of fingering weight yarn could be substituted; I used about 60 yards of each color.
