Apple Picker's Basket-weave Poncho

14 stitches = 4 inches in stockinete stitch
US 10½ - 6.5 mm
260 - 400 yards (238 - 366 m)
3-6. / 6-12. / 12-18 months

The stitch is NOT a true basket-weave but a pattern of 3 X 3 ribbing that shifts over 3 stitches every four rows. The ribbing is worked in garter stitch rather than reverse stockinette.

To make,an adult size, cast-on enough stitches for each piece to measure 20 - 22” wide and bind-off when 30” long. Be sure to purchase enough extra yarn.

Finish by sewing wrong sides togther following directions and whip stitch together.
