Arachne was a mortal woman who made the mistake of claiming to be a better weaver then the goddess Athena. As punishment, Athena turned her into a spider. The lace detailing in this sweater reminds me of spider webs; that combined with the fine weave of this sock-weight sweater lead to its name.

This light sweater features elegant lace detailing and snug fitting, stocking-like arms. But the real highlight of this garment are the over-the-hand sleeves, complete with a comfortable, open thumb hole. This garment works well as either an open cardigan or as a wrap-around sweater.
