Arborescent means tree-like, it felt like the perfect name for this hat with its branches growing from the ribbing all around the hat.

Arborescent is worked from the bottom up, in the round, all in one piece; the trees are achieved with the clever use of slipped stitches and cables so that you are only ever working with one yarn at a time.

This is a written pattern with no charts, the pattern includes comprehensive notes on all of the techniques used.

The given gauge of 20sts x 36rows is in the garter stripe pattern, which is why there are more rows that you would expect for worsted weight yarn.
