Want to make a shawl with one skein of your favorite variegated sock yarn, but don’t want to deal with short rows or binding off a gazillion stitches? This shawl is the perfect alternative!

It’s knit side-to-side in garter stitch, starting with 3 stitches and ending with 3 stitches. In fact, you’ll never have more than 73 stitches on your needles. The trapezoid shape with its clean lines is flattering and has nice pointy ends for tying (and is easy to block). Two lines of continuous braid stitch accent the shawlette and give it interest and added texture.

This trapezoid shawlette measures 65” (165 cm) at top width and 28” (71 cm) at bottom width. It is 13” (33 cm) high, with a 28” (71 cm) diagonal wingspan on each side. (All measurements are after blocking.)
