Flowing from gentle lace waves to a pattern reminiscent of burning flame, Ardence is a visually appealing yet simple scarf pattern, with matching hat.

I love feeling truly warm, wrapped in my own hand-knits, & nothing reinforces this feeling like lovely little knitted flames creeping up a scarf in a yummy warm colourway.

Both the hat and scarf patterns are included.
Patterns are written in full with charts & written instructions of charts.

Hat
Knitted bottom up, first with 4mm needles for ribbing, moving onto 4.5mm needles for the body of the hat. Decreases are in pattern to minimise disruption of the flame stitch.

Sizes are available in Small, Medium and Large (teen, adult & large adult).

Gauge: 18sts x 24 rows

Scarf
Flowing, but made from worsted yarn & 5mm needles, Ardence is a quick and satisfying lace scarf project. Knit flat, Ardence begins in one type of lace stitch, merging into the second approximately 2/3 through.

Edges are knit garter to preserve accessory shape.

If you prefer either chart, you can chose to knit this for a longer distance. Also, the scarf can be easily widened by adding a repeat to your work.

Gauge:
Chart 1: 16 st x 20 rows
Chart 2: 14 st x 20 rows

-> Two skeins of Malabrigo arroyo required for both items; the hat requires 1/2 a skein and the scarf requires 1 1/2 skeins.
