These cheerful, simple mitts were inspired during a recent trip to Scotland, while waiting for the ferry from Armadale to Mallaig.
The mitts are worked flat and seamed. Only one color is used on each row, with a simple stitch pattern creating the polka dot effect.
You will need approximately 140 yards of each of 2 colors, fingering weight yarn, to create these mitts. Sample mitts were created with Baah La Jolla and with Zauerball yarns. I used a 20 inch circular needle, but any size circular or straight needle which gives you a gauge of 6 sts to the inch (measured over stockinette stitch) can be used.
